Our final stop on the mammoth trip was Houston Texas. Sonja was here to see Houston Texas Children’s Hospital and meet up with a colleague here. The kids were keen to see the space centre. We all really enjoyed the visit here. They have recently reopened the Apollo mission control centre where the moon landing and other Apollo missions were run from. It was really cool seeing it all set up just like it would have been way back then.
The displays were really well done and it was quite surreal to be allowed to go inside a space shuttle as well. Elise was pretty excited to be allowed to touch moon rocks. We quickly ran out of time and had to leave to catch our night time flight home. Thank Nasa it was great.
