Adam – In Paris I had had an incredible time. We did an e-bike tour which was pretty epic and the e-bikes made me go really fast, then we went to the Musee D’Orsay. The next day we went to the Louvre after that we went to the Champs D’Elyees and there was a riot and we got tear- gassed. We went to a light show that showed Van Gogh’s paintings, then went to a church- the Sacre Coer that we climbed up. On the last day in Paris we went to Disneyland- my favourite ride was the Big Thunder Mountain.

Tessa – Paris was a busy, modern city that had hidden secrets from history. We did a E-bike tour that showed us restaurants with ancient artifacts (Eg: Napoleon’s hat), arenas from Lutetia (in Roman times) and much more. We went to the Musees D’Orsay and Louvre and saw lots of famous paintings such as the Mona Lisa. We went to the Champs des Elysees (The tear gas HURT!!) The Arc du Triomphe, Sacre Coeur and Montremarte. The Ateliere des Lumiere was an interactive art experience- I loved Van Gogh Almond blossom. Finally we went to Disneyland Paris where we spent the whole day!

Elise – While in Paris we did loads of stuff including; an E-bike tour of paris, visiting museums like the Musee D’Orsay and the Louvre, going to the eiffel tower, enjoying the lights show Ateliere des Lumiere, biking down the seine, walking past a protest on Champs D’Elysees (and getting tear gassed at the Arc du Triomphe,) and of course Disneyland!!! the rides weren’t thaaat amazing but the light show and fireworks over Sleeping beauty’s castle were SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark- full disclosure regarding the tear gas. Paris has city bikes that you can hire. There are docking stations about every 400m. We bought a pass valid for 24hrs and set out to recreate the tour de france with a peloton riding up the Champs Elysees. However, there were vast numbers of police out and about, and a lot of roads were closed. Eventually, we made it to the top half of the Champs Elysees and cycled up it until we saw that the Arc de Triomphe was closed off by police as well. So we docked our bikes and intrepidly investigated on foot. There were a lot of protesters around and it fell quite threatening so I hurried through while Sonja went up to a journalist to find out what was going on. The police left the Arc de Triomphe passing right by the protesters and then things flared up. We decided to leave but as we rode past the Arc, the police and protesters clashed and tear gas was released about 200m from us and we were downwind of it and got a reasonable blast of it. A first for all of us. Bienvenue a Paris!
And on that morning my Phone was stolen. But despite that, you can’t help loving Paris.
A few other things I learned: Rainbow’s end stacks up well compared to Eurodisney (at least in terms of the rides). Nausea tablets don’t stop me needing to vomit on roller coasters that corkscrew or do loops. Seeing the Mona Lisa is still not worth it. E-bikes are great fun. And cycling along the Seine at 10pm in the middle of thousands of people being out and about is an experience you can’t buy. Finally, cycling without a helmet is much more enjoyable.
Sounds like Paris was amazing-even despite the tear gas! Yikes! 😱
